Sparing

Sparing is a fun, easy way to get in extra play and meet some teams. Any Port Moody Curling Club member is invited to sign up as a spare in any league they’d like. You’ll go on a spare list, and someone from that league or an individual team will reach out when they’re short a player to see if you are available & interested.

The City of Port Moody and our insurance company require all curlers (including spares) to be a member of the Port Moody Curling Club.

Sparing is replacing a regular member of a team in a league that you are not a member of, because the regular member of the league cannot make it to the game.

Please follow the steps below to register:

    Log into the Registration System.

    Make sure you login with the same email address you used to create the profile, or an email address that is associated with the profile (primary or secondary email for the curler). If you aren’t, then you won’t be able to see or make changes to your curler profile.

    Make sure your membership is paid for the current season. It is a requirement to spare.

    At the top right, click on “Account” and then select “Sparing”.

    Click on the “Register as a Spare” button next to your profile name.

    Select the league you want to spare for, and the position(s) you are willing to play. Click on the “Register as a spare” button to submit your name for that league.

    Repeat Step 6 for any other league you would like to spare for.

If you are not a member already, you will be required to pay the membership fees.
