Curler Development Clinics
Port Moody Curling Club offers several development clinics to enhance the knowledge and skills of our members. These clinics are provided at a break-even cost for the club, making them an affordable way to receive direct instruction from certified coaches
The following clinics are provided on a regular basis throughout the season:
- Curling Strategy: a classroom course providing instruction on key tactical aspects of the game. Levels 1 & 2 are offered.
- Line and Delivery: an on-ice clinic focusing on set-up in the hack, line of delivery, grips, turns and releases. Video feedback is provided; Levels 1 & 2 are offered.
- Timing, Sweeping, and Communication: an on-ice clinic discussing how to time a stone, judging weight, sweeping, and team communication. Levels 1 & 2 are offered.
- Stick Delivery: an on-ice session to develop the technique for stick delivery, including aim and alignment, judging weight, and applying a consistent release
- Ice Reading, Line Calling, and Tactics: on-ice instruction for experienced curlers focusing on reading the ice, judging paths, calling line, and strategic tactics
