EVENT DETAILS:

New to competition or looking for competitive game time to take your game to the next level, join us for a weekend of fun and development.

The primary focus of this event has been player development while having fun and meeting new people. It is also a great opportunity for new coaches to get practice with the coach interaction rules. All teams will play all games in their pool / bracket and playoffs. No one will be eliminated.

Food:

Includes lunch on Saturday and snacks on Sunday for all players and coaches.

Cash Prizes:

Novice: for each end won

Intermediate & Advanced: for each game won plus top finishers

Draw Times:

Saturday: 8:30 am, 11:00 am, 1:30 pm, 4:00 pm
Sunday: 8:00 am, 10:30 am, 1:00 pm, 3:30 pm

FORMAT:

3 Divisions – 8 Teams per Division

Novice (U14) – 6 end games (or buzzer). 2 Saturday, 1 Sunday.

  • Either pool play or bracket, depending on number of teams.

  • Coaches are on the backboards and can communicate with their team when the other team has control of the play.

  • Coaches are not to call shots, ice or sweeping.

Intermediate (U16) – 8 end games (or buzzer). 2 Saturday, 2 Sunday (possibly back-to-back).

  • 3 Pool play games plus 1 playoff game against other the other pool.

  • Coaches are on the backboards and can interact with their teams as per the current Curling Canada U18 Coach Interaction protocols.

  • 1 interaction per end per team

  • Coaches can meet with their teams for 45 seconds between ends

Advanced (U18) – 8 end games (or buzzer). 2 Saturday, 3 Sunday (including back-to-back).

  • 3 Pool Play games then top 2 teams in each pool advanced to Championship Playoffs and bottom 2 teams in each pool play in Consolation Playoffs.

  • Coaches are on the backboards and can interact with their teams as per the current Curling Canada U18 Coach Interaction protocols.

  • 1 interaction per end per team

  • Coaches can meet with their teams for 45 seconds between ends

Equipment: Helmets are required for all curlers under the age of 12. Brooms, stabilizers, grippers and sliders will be available.
